Two Indians who were kidnapped from Boko area near Makurdi in Benue State of Nigeria on June 29, were released today.
Ministry of External Affairs spokes person Vikas Swarup said that the duo were released at around 10.30 am.
Mangapudi Srinivas and Kaushal Sharma were kidnapped by a group of a men at a traffic signal when they were on their way to work. The duo worked at Dangote Group, a Nigerian multinational conglomerate which is also the largest in West Africa.

Srinivas and Sharma spoke to their families after they were released. Their families thanked the External Affairs Ministry for their support. Srinivas’ wife thanked the ministry for keeping the family informed of the developments on almost a daily basis.
Immediately after the release of the duo, Swaraj took to Twitter and said “We have been able to rescue Sai Srinivas and Anish Sharma from abductors in Nigeria.”
