The Reports states that strong Vibration has been sensed across both West Bengal and Assam.

 

It has been estimated that this Wednesday An earthquake of 6.7 Richter scale in Myanmar leaves east India. Reports state that strong vibration has been felt across West Bengal and Assam. We do not have any reports of casualties yet.

National Centre for Seismology, a unit of Ministry of Earth Sciences, claims that the Epicentre of the Earthquake was in Myanmar and it took place at 4:04 PM to an extent of 58 km. People got scared and departed out of buildings in Patna, Kolkata, and Guwahati. Metro services in Kolkata have been temporarily suspended after the earthquake tremors were felt.

“Earthquake vibrations were also felt in Darjeeling and Siliguri in North Bengal, but so far no reports of casualties are provided,” AnuragShrivastava the District Magistrate of Darjeeling stated this to media. According to him the intensity of Earthquake was low and any loss of life and property was not expected.
